Lino Print Work

These are nodules that I have built using mount board, texture paste and acrylic paste. They have lights fitted on the outside of the nodule with the light inside so there is artwork to be seen both day and night, and to make the work more inetractive. Within the nodule, there are 3D lino printed fossils that can be taken out and looked at, revealing layers in the nodule and further detail on the lino print work. The Lino print was layers using foam pads to make the work more 3D, and using different tones to show higher layers, and the lino print itself isn’t solid colour to show how there are imperfections of fossils in real life, trying to keep an educational aspect to the work.

Interactive wood work

This interactive educational piece was made out of MDF Wood that was cut using a laser cutter, then painted using acrylic paint to colour the piece. There are four layers, and each indicidual piece has eight layers (four matching on both sides). This was showcasing a Celtic burial, with there being objects alomgside the skeleton to show who the person was in life before death. This sort of work I would look to place in a museum exhibition, and is made with wood to be more robust so that it is able to be handled.
